The Maynard is introducing the AQA Baccalaureate from September 2010. Available to any student in the Sixth Form studying at least three A-levels, the AQA Bacc is a complete curriculum programme, adding value to core A-level subjects through broader study, the Extended Project Qualification and enrichment activities.

Many post-16 students and schools/colleges are caught in a conundrum – how to demonstrate that they possess the suite of qualifications, skills and qualities that will differentiate them from others when applying for university and employment. The AQA Bacc allows students to achieve this. It is innovative, flexible, interactive and available to all Maynard Sixth Formers from September!
The AQA Bacc also:
- Offers students an exciting study framework that motivates them to explore new challenges and prepares them for adulthood and higher education
- Helps students to gain formal recognition for activities they already enjoy
- Teaches students to be able to talk confidently at interviews about the skills and experience they acquired through and beyond academic study
- Enables students to have a portable enrichment activities record of which they can be proud.
“The AQA Bacc offers students depth and breadth in their learning which we believe provides valuable preparation for study at University”
University of Sheffield
“We believe that it can be the ‘extras’ that a student brings to the University, over and above their A-level results, that secure them a place…it would appear that the AQA Bacc provides the depth of academic study that is necessary along with the breadth of thinking that we value.”
University of Birmingham
