On the evening of 20th May, the L5 undertook some extensive Physics research. Firstly, they studied momentum and collisions by going tenpin bowling. Next they studied the thermal properties of cheese by eating Pizza. Finally they visited the Norman Lockyer Observatory at Sidmouth where they were able to use large telescopes to view the moon, Saturn and Venus. They also experienced the superb planetarium there. The observatory visit linked to their current GCSE studies on the use of telescopes to study the universe. We all had an amazing time and were even able to celebrate Katie New’s birthday with a cake and a song at Pizza Hut.
