The Maynard School hosted the annual Girls’ School Association (GSA) Head Girls Conference 2011 on Friday 30 September. Head Girls and their teams from across the South West came to the ‘High Risk Leadership’ themed day.
Fiona Price, founder of Fiona Price & Partners, a firm of Independent Financial Advisers she set up to pioneer financial advice to women gave an inspirational talk and informal Q&A session with the students.
The delegates were assigned an ‘Apprentice’-style challenge during the course of the day in which they had to lead and manage a project as a team. The task involved branding their own investment company, interviewing a ‘client’ and deciding where to invest their ‘client’s’ money. The girls really enjoyed getting to grips with the task and developing their leadership skills.
Many thanks to our sponsors Williams de Bröe investment managers and Foot Anstey solicitors.
