The Old Maynardians Society

Home » Old Maynardians » The Old Maynardians Society

There had been an Old Maynardian Society since the 1880s, and it was set up to help pupils build links with each other and maintain contact with the School. More than 125 years later, the Society is still working hard to fulfil those aims.

Old MaynardiansThe Old Maynardian Society, continues to move towards becoming a charity in its own right. The idea was accepted in principle at the AGM in 2008, and, since then, the Committee have been working to revise the OMS Objects and Constitution to bring them in line with Charity Commission requirements. The Draft constitution is almost complete. Charitable status will be important to the OMS because it allows for clarification of the Society’s purpose and activities. For example, it has long been a priority of the OMS to give financial support to girls in need, and it is time to formally recognise this charitable aim as a central purpose of the Society’s existence.

Regional and Special Interest Groups

Music in 1985In this mobile society, our alumnae are scattered far and wide, and we want to recognise this by setting up regional Old Maynardians groups.

If you already (or would like to) meet regularly with other Old Maynardians in your area, or are interested in the other activities we have planned, please do contact us.

Membership

MembershipOMS Members receive the Maynard News magazine twice a year, which is packed with news of other Old Girls and updates about the School. The Editor of the magazine is always pleased to receive contributions for inclusion in the magazine; these might be memories, news updates, or appeals to old friends to get in touch. To send items for inclusion in the next magazine, please contact us by emailing marketing@maynard.co.uk or click here to complete an Update Form.

If you are not already a member and would like to join the Society, please click here to download a membership form. Life Membership costs £60, but many old girls and former staff may find they are already members. Please contact us if you would like to check your membership status.
