Annual Giving Campaign
Ongoing Fundraising to Support our Bursary Programme
When Sir John Maynard founded what was to become the Maynard School, he could not possibly have envisaged the longevity his legacy would enjoy. The Maynard School has stayed true to Sir John’s ethos — that of providing able girls with a challenging and fully-rounded education of the highest calibre — and our Governors used last year’s 350th Anniversary celebrations to reaffirm their commitment to ensuring the widest possible access to a Maynard education for able girls from all social and economic backgrounds.
It is our ideal to offer a place at the Maynard to every able girl, regardless of family income, solely on the basis that the pupil would thrive in the School’s unique environment. However, the School is not well-endowed and fees assistance is an annual cost funded currently from fee income.
It is for this reason that we set up an annual-giving programme devised specifically to provide support for girls who would benefit from a Maynard education but whose families are unable to afford full fees. Our hope is that former pupils, parents, governors, local businesses and the Maynard’s many friends will help us to raise a substantial amount of money to secure support for every deserving case.
For more than three centuries Maynardians have been making a positive contribution to society, and donations to the 350th Anniversary Appeal will enable the Maynard to continue to inspire girls whose family circumstances make the payment of full fees impossible, but who so much deserve what the School has to offer. We do hope that you will be able to join us in helping the Maynard carry on this worthwhile tradition long into the future.
