Happiness matters. We firmly believe that our students achieve excellent results in all that they do because they are happy at school.
Feeling successful contributes significantly to being happy, and, perhaps more importantly, happiness is the key to success. Happiness benefits our performance, health and relationships. It has been linked to better decision-making and enhanced creativity, as well as academic attainment and pupil behaviour. Happier people are more likely to make a positive contribution to society and help others – as well as being healthier and living longer.
At The Maynard, a sense of inclusion and compassion underlies all that we do. We provide a happy, secure and lively environment where each young girl will flourish and foster individuality, confidence and enthusiasm.
Our Wellbeing Programme is designed to provide our girls with skills such as positive thinking, emotional resilience and self-efficacy, so that as well as making the most of the good times, they can also cope with life’s challenges, overcome learning barriers and manage social pressures. Covering topics such as mindfulness, exercise, healthy eating, teamwork, kindness and the importance of sleep, the social and emotional wellbeing of our students is at the heart of all that we do.
When parents are asked what it is that they want most for their children, the majority reply,
‘I just want them to be happy!’
