Sixth Form Homestay

The Maynard is a day school, and our international Sixth Form pupils are placed with our trusted and experienced homestay families, all of whom are thoroughly checked before placement.

“I am just writing to you to say don’t be nervous about homestay! I found living with an English family a lot more nurturing than the boarding school I went to and you learn so much more about the English lifestyle and culture. You also have so much more freedom than at a boarding school because you don’t need to follow a strict timetable and there is time to relax after a busy school day.

“I had my own room and study area and my hosts treated me like I was one of the family and took me with them to social gatherings. Sometimes I met up with friends at the weekends as well. It’s all really relaxed and you feel like you are at home.

“It’s much less stressful than being at school in Hong Kong and you still learn just as much! The best thing is that the amount of homework is doable so you don’t have to stay up all night. I would recommend it to anyone so don’t miss out – come and join us at The Maynard!“

Our homestay scheme is managed by Global International Student Management consultancies Gabbitas Education (for Hong Kong) and Gateway Education (for mainland China).

The wellbeing, happiness and security of all our pupils is our number one priority and we keep in regular contact with our international girls to ensure that they are happy within their host family placement.
