Charity and Fundraising
Fundraising is proudly pupil-led, with individual Houses choosing the charities they wish to support and designing imaginative events with boundless energy and compassion.
From vibrant whole-school initiatives to smaller, student-driven campaigns, the enthusiasm and creativity of our girls is evident in everything from hilarious Children in Need staff-student events, the incredible annual ‘Maynard’s Got Talent’ (raising money to sponsor a young South African girl’s entire education) through to cake sales or simple acts of kindness such as our Junior School girls regularly reading with our lovely neighbours at The Lodge Care Home.
These experiences help build community, foster empathy and empower our girls to recognise the impact they can have on the world around them, exemplifying the values and ethos of a Maynard education.
Charity & Fundraising Events
Children In Need
Children In Need is always absolutely unforgettable, from seeing the classic Pudsey ears all around school to hosting a fashion show starring our amazing teachers – all raising money for a great cause!
Student Education Sponsorship
We regularly raise money to support Raynick, a young South African girl, and her education at the Grabouw Education Centre. One of the most memorable of these events is the annual Maynard’s Got Talent, riotous fun for all involved!
Red Nose Day
Red Nose Day is a staple of schools everywhere and we are no exception!
Bursarial Support
There is the option to donate to our bursarial funds and give a life-changing opportunity to talented young women who would otherwise be unable to join us. To this end, we are in 2026 running our first Fundraising Dinner & Auction aiming to fund a fully supported Sixth Form place.
House Charities
Each of our four school Houses selects a charity to support each year. They plan and run their own fundraising activities, showing remarkable enthusiasm, creativity, and dedication to their chosen causes!
Cake & Bake Sales
For those wanting to help others and enjoy a tasty treat at the same time, there are often delicious Cake and Bake Sales running across different areas of the school to support a huge variety of charities!
Moldova Shoebox Collections
Each year, we collect over 100 shoeboxes filled with toys, games, toiletries, warm clothing and more to send to Moldova and Ukraine and spread Christmas cheer to those who need it most.
Exeter Foodbank Collections
We run an annual House Harvest Collection in which a staggering amount of food is donated to our local Exeter Foodbank to help our neighbours in crisis.
Visits to The Lodge
We are very lucky to have a close relationship with our neighbours across the road, The Lodge Care Home. Students as young as Pre-Prep often put on concerts for the residents or practice their reading with them. Older students have learned so much from Lodge visitors who have kindly shared their lived experiences of World War II in History lessons.
