Drama

From Reception onwards, every girl has the chance to shine on stage. Junior School pupils perform in their own productions, while older students can join Drama Clubs, House Drama, seasonal projects, GCSE and A-level work, or take part in the annual whole school Senior Production. Open to Years 9 to 13, this major event brings together actors, musicians and backstage crews, often in collaboration with the Music Department, and is regularly staged at professional venues in Exeter. Recent sell-out shows have included Spamalot, Legally Blonde, The Roses of Eyam and Mary Poppins.

In addition, peripatetic LAMDA classes are offered in small groups at lunchtime or after school, with many students gaining Distinction in exams and excelling at the Devon and Exeter Performing Arts Festival.

Take a look at some of our recent productions or hear from talented actor and Maynard alumna, Izzie Harding-Perrott!
