As the saying goes, ‘You are what you eat‘. This is so true – what we eat affects our health, our growth, our mood, our concentration and even how we behave.
At Maynard all students are lucky enough to enjoy delicious healthy lunches, courtesy of our fabulous chef, Andrew, who always cooks using local, fresh produce where possible. Girls can choose from a hot meal (vegetarian options are always available), soup, the salad bar or the sandwich bar, as well as a scrumptious dessert. There is also a range of healthy snacks on offer throughout the day.
It is compulsory for pupils up to Upper 3 (Year 7) to have school meals at an average cost of £210.90 per term, (£3.85 a day). Older girls can opt to have school lunches on a termly basis, or they may bring in a packed lunch each day. A half term’s notice is needed if a girl is starting or stopping school lunches. There will be no refunds except in the case of prolonged absence and at the discretion of the Bursar — applications can be made to the Bursar’s Office (01392 355990).
