Maynard Parents’ Association

The MPA is a Charity which seeks to raise additional funds for the school. We have three main fundraising events during the year, the Christmas Fair in the Autumn Term, the Quiz Night in the Spring Term and Mutts about Maynard in the Summer Term. All are great fun and the Quiz gives you the opportunity to pit your skills against the Headmistress’s Team – what more could you want? On top of this we also run smaller events throughout the year. With the funds we have raised over the last year, have been able to buy Visualisers, Microscopes, Waterbaths and much more.

As well as raising funds we also aim to create a vibrant parent community, encouraging parents/guardians to get together socially. Each year group has at least one MPA Year Group Ambassador who facilitates social contact within their year group. This can be anything from a meet up for coffee, to family picnics or indeed family days out.

The MPA uses WhatsApp to communicate with parents via our MPA Community. This is a free app which provides a secure, way for parents at the school to keep in contact with each other, stay informed about what’s happening within the MPA, and much more.

The committee is made up of a small group of committed parents who meet up once a term with an Annual General Meeting in early September. The Headmistress attends these meetings and we make decisions about future fundraising events and look at the best way to spend the funds we have raised. All parents/guardians are welcome to attend our AGM and we would encourage you to come along. The dates will be released soon and are published in the school calendar.
