Our job is to inspire all our girls with a love of learning and to nurture independence of mind. If we do this successfully, our girls will step out with confidence as global citizens of the future.
No-one ever regrets a wonderful education for those all-important A-level years and we always welcome talented and capable young ladies into our Sixth Form (at the beginning of Year 12) to finish off their school years to their maximum potential.
For some parents, providing your daughter with the greatest possible education can come at a huge financial sacrifice for which reason we offer a range of fees assisted places and bursaries for talented girls entering the Sixth Form. To find more about these, please click here.
Sixth Form here at the Maynard Schools provides a distinctively unique and happy experience, where all of our students are supported individually and statistically proven to outperform their peers in the co-educational sector.
Sixth Form Open Evening
We are delighted to welcome prospective students to our Sixth Form Open Evening, held every November. These evenings are designed to give you and your daughter a valuable insight into life as a Maynard Sixth Former, to meet with the staff as well as our students and discuss the various A-level options.
Sixth Form Taster Day
In addition, we will be holding an official Taster Day on Friday 25 November 2016 for prospective Sixth Form students which provides a great opportunity to meet the staff and experience the Maynard way of life. To book your daughter into the Taster Day, please contact Wendy Parker in our Admissions Department, on 01392 355998 or email@example.com.
Alternatively, you are most welcome to visit us or arrange a tailor-made Taster Day at any time by making an appointment with Wendy.
Our Sixth Form admission process involves, in the first instance, completion of our Registration Form which can be downloaded here and is also enclosed with the prospectus.
We will then invite your daughter for an interview with the Headmistress, the Director of the Sixth Form and any other relevant Heads of Departments. We will also write to your daughter’s current school to request a reference, latest report and predicted GCSE grades.
If we are then able to offer a place, this would be conditional upon your daughter gaining five or more C and above GCSE grades, including English and Mathematics.
Please note that if your daughter is hoping to join in the Upper Sixth, she must gain A or B grades in her chosen AS subjects.
We then ask parents to sign the accompanying Acceptance Form, having read the Terms & Conditions booklet, and pay a registration fee which secures a place for your daughter.
