Exciting Specialist Musical Appointment At The Maynard School

The Maynard School is proud to announce the appointment of Julia Featherstone as its new Choral and Performing Arts Specialist – a dynamic and inspiring addition to the school’s thriving arts community.

An outstanding choral director, accomplished soprano and highly experienced music teacher, Julia brings exceptional breadth and depth of expertise from the independent and girls’ school sectors, most recently at Cheltenham Ladies’ College and Exeter Cathedral School. Her teaching experience spans from Pre-Prep to Sixth Form, underpinned by a PGCE in Secondary Music from the University of Cambridge and a BA (Hons) in Music from Durham University.

Julia will bring tremendous energy, creativity and artistic flair to The Maynard’s incredible Performing Arts provision across both Junior and Senior Schools, further enriching the exceptional music and drama opportunities available to girls of all ages.

“I am absolutely thrilled to be joining The Maynard’s dynamic community, which has such a fabulous reputation for excellence in the performing arts. I am excited to work with the girls to nurture their confidence, creativity and musical ambition, and to build on the school’s proud tradition of vibrant, high-quality performance.”

Julia’s wealth of experience, passion for choral music and deep commitment to girls’ education make her an outstanding appointment. The school very much looks forward to welcoming her to the team in September and to the exciting new chapter ahead for Performing Arts at The Maynard.
