More great Ten Tors practice

Posted on December 2, 2025

Our intrepid Ten Tors teams were out training again this weekend, covering an impressive 10-13km on Saturday and a whopping 20km+ on Sunday!

Saturday kicked off with indoor skills sessions, practicing contour sketching and compass skills, before braving the rain and getting hands-on with compass work on the moor itself; a busy day spent visiting Crazy Well Pool, taking on the challenge of The Sword in the Stone and dodging the pixies at Pixies Holt.

Sunday saw a major trek across open moorland visiting numerous tors that included Stannon Tor, Hartland Tor, Thornworthy Tor, Kes Tor and the amazing Grey Wethers stone circles.

The depths of a few bogs were also checked by the more courageous of students! ‘Hip deep’ was one recorded measurement that might not be so objective!

Fantastic effort as always, teams! Keep up the brilliant work!
