Nothing beats a good book! This year we’ve had our biggest ever Carnegie Medal Shadowing Group, and they have absolutely loved reading this year’s shortlisted books, writing reviews, and taking part in enthusiastic discussions about each title. Yesterday, they celebrated all their hard work with a wonderful round-up event joined by their friends and family!
The Carnegie Medal will be awarded this month, so to mark the occasion, the group each reflected on one of the books on the shortlist in their own unique way. They shared everything from poems and letters to films, monologues and paintings – and the themed baked goodies on offer were the cherry on top!
A huge well done to all our fantastically creative readers, who went above and beyond in their engagement with this year’s shortlist. And thank you to Mrs Jackson and the brilliant team whose hard work made both the club and the celebration event such a success!
