We are delighted to have been awarded the Bronze Award at the 2026 Oppidian Mentoring Awards for our academic mentoring scheme!
The scheme pairs our Lower and Upper 6 students with GCSE students from Paignton Academy and Newton Abbot College for weekly mentoring sessions. It has had a huge positive impact for all involved since it began in September 2024: the mentees benefit from our students’ knowledge and personalised support, while our Maynard mentors consolidate their subject knowledge for A-levels and develop their public speaking skills and confidence.
