Our extraordinary alumnae never cease to amaze us! We were very lucky to be visited by actor, writer and Old Maynardian Izzie Harding-Perrott last Friday, who kindly came to share their insights with our Upper 4s (Year 9).
Izzie, who will be taking the stage as ‘Romeo’ in the upcoming Northcott Theatre production of ‘Romeo and Juliet’, talked about their time at The Maynard, being part of the Cambridge Footlights, and how they tackle Shakespeare. In preparation for the Upper 4s study of ‘Romeo and Juliet’ next year and to build their confidence, the group had a go at speaking some of Shakespeare’s key lines with emotion, whilst also learning more about the captivating world of stagecraft and acting.
Thank you so much to Izzie for such a fascinating visit! ‘Romeo and Juliet’ will be at the Exeter Northcott from Wednesday 2nd July to Saturday 12th July, so don’t miss the chance to see Izzie shine in one of the starring roles.
