Pre-Prep Extra-Curricular

Our priority is for our girls to learn to be children, to play outside, to take part in shared activities and experiences, rather than always sitting at a desk. You will see this in our curriculum, which includes time for creativity and expression; we also spend a lot of time outside the classroom, with Pre-Prep pupils taking part in a number of clubs and activities as part of their day and various outings and visits taking place each term. Pre-Prep girls are also enthusiastic participants in fundraising activities throughout the school year. Everyone enjoys the fun of dressing up, performing, making and decorating, taking part in competitions and sponsored events.

Outings and Visits

We organise regular outings and visits for our Pre-Prep pupils. Recent trips have included a wonderful day out to the Exmouth Lifeboat Station, a trip to West Town Farm in Ide, where the girls had the opportunity to see how a working farm operates and a historical tour of Exeter Cathedral. They have also visited the Tiverton Museum and Dart’s Farm.

Sport and Outdoor Learning

All of our Pre-Prep pupils experience half a term of early morning Yoga, helping to wake them up and be ready for their day, improve their balance, strength and flexibility whilst having fun and learning to be body confident.

Pre-Prep pupils also enjoy weekly swimming lessons at St Luke’s campus (University of Exeter) during the autumn and spring terms, and tennis lessons with our specialist tennis coach Jon Rycroft during the summer term.

We are lucky enough to have an on-site Forest School and all our Pre-Prep pupils will take part in weekly Forest School sessions all year round.

We also offer Ballet, Martial Arts and Mini Modern Dance, taught by our specialist teachers Mrs Barlow, Exeter Martial Arts instructors and Mrs Connor.
