Hi and a big welcome to the Maynard Parents Association (MPA)!
The MPA is a Charitable Trust which seeks to raise additional funds for the school. We have two main fundraising events during the year, The Christmas Fair in the Autumn Term and The Quiz Night in the Spring Term. Both are great fun and the latter gives you the opportunity to pit your skills against the Headmistress’s Team, what more could you want? On top of this we also run smaller events, and are always looking for new fundraising ideas. With the funds we have raised, recently we were able to buy a Steinway piano for the Performing Arts Department.
The MPA also encourages parents to get together socially with other parents and this is done via the MPA Class Representatives. Class Representatives arrange social gathering for parents in their year group, giving you the opportunity to meet up with other parents and generally have fun.
The MPA has recently introduced ‘Classlist’. This is a free App and provides a secure way for parents to keep in contact with each other, stay informed about what’s happening within the MPA and much more. We strongly encourage both old and new parents to join up via www.classlist.com or by downloading the app onto your phone or tablet. From May 2018 when the new GDPR regulations come in, Classlist will be our only way of communicating with parents, so please do join up now.
The committee is made up of eight enthusiastic parents who meet up each term with the Headmistress to discuss ways in which the MPA can help with funding and decide how funds are allocated. All parents are welcome to these meetings and we would love you to come along. The dates and venues can always be found via Classlist or on the school calendar.
We are always eager to hear about new fundraising ideas or if you would like to get involved help is always needed and appreciated. Please come along to our meetings, find out what we are up to by joining Classlist or email us on [email protected]
We hope we can call upon you all to help make the MPA a success and look forward to seeing you at one of our events.
