Our fantastic Under 14 Netball team, the recent National finalists and reigning Devon County Champions, have been shortlisted for ‘School Team of the Year’ at the upcoming Express and Echo Sports Awards.
The winner, to be announced at a star-studded ceremony on Wednesday 26 April 2017, will be the team that has worked best together “with dedication and team spirit to achieve great things this year”. Whilst their netball accolades speak for themselves, what we believe makes our team stand out is the huge talent both as a team and individually they show across the board.
“This is no one-trick pony – they were runners-up in the Devon Hockey Championships and third regionally (just missing a place in the National Championships),” said Director of Sport, Mrs Gabbitass. “They also finished in the top 10 teams in the country for Basketball and individually almost every team member is competing at County or National level in netball, hockey, athletics, equestrianism, tennis, basketball or cross-country running.
“They are also great friends, love their sport, are committed, cohesive but most of all just want to have fun!”
