The school was buzzing with creativity when the Upper 3 and Lower 4 took to the stage for an informal showcase of their recent classwork. Both of the Upper 3 classes took poems from ‘Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats’ by T.S. Elliot (the inspiration for the musical ‘Cats’) while Lower 4 focused on using physical theatre to create the locations of their drama, performing extracts from three popular texts; the physical choral piece, ‘Sean, the Fool, the Devil and the Cats’ by Ted Hughes, the dark ‘The Demon Headmaster’ and finally the iconic scene from ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ where Augustus Gloop falls into the chocolate river!
This really was a great opportunity for parents to sample the performance work from this Autumn Term in Drama.
