Award-winning Classicist, Emily Hauser, gave a wonderful reading of her new book, “Ancient Love Stories”, and spoke about Sappho and the Sacred Band of Thebes in her talk in September. It was wonderful to hear such a range of stories about love and different types of relationships. The girls were particularly enthusiastic to hear her views on female writers in antiquity; it was also exciting to see so many keen Classicists in one place! A big thank you to Jazmin Kristó-Nagy for playing so beautifully at the start of the evening. Thank you too to everyone who attended; you made it a very enjoyable evening.
