Equestrian Team successful again!

Our equestrian team continued their winning ways when kicking off the winter season with a most impressive victory in the South-West School’s One Day Event at Bicton on Sunday 18 September 2016.

The team of Anya Hitt, Kitty Guinness, Isabella Brent and Grace Williams (taking over from her sister, Amber, in the team) were always going to be the ones to beat, having posted some very good dressage scores earlier in the day. But they held their nerve in the show jumping and cross country disciplines to take the 80cm class with a ten-point victory over their nearest rivals.

Anya Hitt, riding the brilliant grey, Cnoc an Noinin Clover, also took individual third place in her section whilst teammate Isabella Brent was fifth in a different section on Nibeley Top Tiami, a six-year old belonging to her sister.

“It was great to win again and on home soil this time,” said team manager, Emma Guinness. “We have had to make some changes to the team as two of the girls have moved up to a bigger class since being crowned as National Champions at Hickstead but their substitutes have been brilliant! In the end, the three scores to count all finished on their dressage tests, which is quite some achievement!”
