Junior School Summer Show

To celebrate the end of the academic year, the Junior School and Pre-Prep Department put on a couple of fantastic productions of their Junior School Summer Show on Monday 10 and Tuesday 11 July 2017.

Each class chose a decade of the 20th Century to represent; the Pre-Preppers chose the 1910s, with Reception performing their own Maynard waltz and Years 1 and 2 telling us about the exploits of the suffragettes with stirring enthusiasm – “fierce girls” indeed! Year 3 swung onto stage in glorious technicolour in their 1970s outfits and then delighted the crowd with a medley of Abba songs and dancing. Fabulous renditions of Michael Jackson and Cindy Lauper (to represent the 1980s) by the Year 4 clad in multicolour leggings had the audience tapping their toes to the tunes. The Year 5s opted for the 1950s, complete with leather jackets, rock n roll moves, sax solos and a guide to some of the classic children’s stories written in this era. The show was closed by Year 6’s visit to the sophisticated 1920s complete with feathered headdresses, some early jazz and a whistle-stop tour of the significant events of the time.

It was a very colourful and varied production so well done to everyone for such a befittingly fun end to the academic year!
