Three incredible Biz Whizz Careers talks

Posted on November 15, 2019

We welcomed three brilliant speakers on 18 October 2019 to talk to the Senior Girls about their careers and, once again, we cannot thank these professionals for so willingly giving of their time to inform and inspire. Architect, Lee Ferris (who was instrumental in the design of Wimbledon’s retractable roof as well as many other incredible projects both at home and abroad), draw an enormous crowd; Old Maynardian, Liberty Dixon (the Head of Science for the International Department of Trade) used a very rare day off to provide a fascinating insight to her incredibly busy career, particularly in these times of Brexit; and Deborah Fisher OBE (a former diplomat and now Director of Crisis Response and Independent Living at the British Red Cross) gave a very topical presentation to her audience about the need for acquiring the necessary transferable skills to meet this generation’s future of changing careers.

Without a doubt, the indelible mark that these professionals leave on the girls is significant and we are aware of several students so far who have already been sufficiently inspired to follow in our Biz Whizz speakers’ footsteps.
