The penultimate Biz Whizz careers talks for this academic year took place on Friday 28 February 2020 with another fine set of brilliant speakers.
Dr Ceri Lewis, an Associate Professor of Marine Biology at the University of Exeter, spoke to a packed room about her research on the impact of global changes and microplastic pollution in far flung corners of the world, ahead of her next expedition to the Arctic. Dr Lewis has also been a scientific advisor to the Blue Planet series as well as for a recent documentary entitled ‘Drowning in Plastic’.
Current parent, Dr Clare Leonard drew a group of inquisitive girls eager to find out more about how she combines a love of food with a more scientific approach as the Global Director of Nutrition Science and Innovation at the Coca Cola Company.
Finally, we were thrilled to have one of our English teachers, Miss Hartopp, talk to a huge crowd of students about the highs and lows of a teaching career, and why she so utterly loves what she does.
Our huge thanks to all those who volunteer so willingly of their time to inspire the next generation of workforce.
