Eager to get a peek of university life, Upper 4 (Year 9) attended the fascinating Science and Engineering Showcase at the University of Plymouth on Friday. This was a unique opportunity for girls to chat with current undergraduate students, PhD students and all-round academics about what it’s like to study and work in STEM and also find out more about what it’s like to be a student in general. There were plenty of fabulous hands-on activities – everyone got stuck in to weird, wonderful and educational fun such as holding giant snails and cockroaches, playing with robots and learning about developments in renewable energy technology.
