On Saturday, Darcey, Jesse, Konnie and Grace (Upper 6th, Year 13) and Izzie, Nandipa and Victoria (Lower 6th, Year 12) went all the way to the stars in the regional round of the UK Space Design Competition at the University of Exeter.
The students worked as a team to design and cost a ‘maintenance facility for repairing mining equipment on the dark side of the Moon’ and then present a pitch to a group of judges.
In a field of highly prestigious schools, from as far afield as South Wales, they finished in second place overall, narrowly missing out on a place at the National Finals at Imperial College. What a fabulous achievement!
